about

hi. i'm emircan.

i make software that people actually use. it started with ugly tr.gg pages, so, progress.

i was a kid, making free sites, half of them broken, all of them mine. watching something i built show up in a browser was the best feeling ever. still is, honestly. never really stopped after that.

grew up around the military, which is why i've always been weirdly into defense stuff. ended up interning at BAYKAR, ASELSAN, HAVELSAN. big places, big rules, no room for "it works on my machine." learned a lot. mostly learned to double check.

i can't sit still if there's something to build. get an idea, ignore everything else for a few weeks, and suddenly it's a real thing with real users. not always smart, always fun.

this site is where i dump what i learn, what i break, and what i fix at 3am. no polish, no "10 tips to become a senior dev." just things that happened.

when i'm not coding i'm watching football or hanging out with friends. usually both. usually yelling at the screen.

anyway. stay a while.

experience

  1. BAYKAR Technology, software eng. intern

wrote a c++ desktop app (wxWidgets, FFmpeg) that plays video frame by frame, from files or live UDP streams, plus object tracking with OpenCV (CSRT). validation time down ~40% for a team of 10+ engineers. yes, c++. yes, it was as fun as it sounds.

  2. ASELSAN, software eng. intern

a java swing tool (selenium, jsoup) that killed 80% of the manual data entry. hours-long cycles became minutes. roughly 15 engineer-hours a week back. someone had to do it.

  3. HAVELSAN, software eng. intern

tackle-test into 3 java service modules. unit test coverage ~20% -> 55%. wrote the setup docs too, so nobody has to figure it out twice.

  4. SIMKAB Electric, part-time + intern

postgres schema, typescript/express REST API, and a react chatbot with openai embeddings (keyword + semantic search) over 5,000+ dead-stock SKUs. scraping pipelines pushed dataset completeness up 70%+. my first "real" job, it shows. in a good way.
